What Windows version are you using?
Is the first time you install Norton on this device? Where are you installing from? Your Norton Account?
Was there any non-Norton A/V installed before your Norton install? If so, did you fully remove it with the uninstall utility for that software?
Try clicking on Delete Downloaded files, then restart your computer. Restart, not Shutdown and Startup again. Then try the install again.
Same error code for me. Windows 11. no other A/V software. removed last years Norton 360. Tried the norton tools… “remove and re-install”… “power eraser”. still won’t install. need some help here!
When you used the Norton Removal and reinstall tool did you use the Advanced Options > Remove Only? Then restart your computer before installing Norton.
Yes I tried it with and without the Advanced Options>Remove Only option. And always reboot after each try, even rebooted twice just for good measure, same error. Tried downloading the setup file in a different browser too.
And just to confirm you are using the Restart command, not Shutdown and Startup again?
Yes that was very clear in the instructions.
