Hi all,

Alpha or Beta Testing?  :smileywink:

Hi Yank,

This checker is part of a research project and the new version will be carried out by the ACCEPT Consortium in order to ensure a better quality of this functionality. The tool has been improved with new features and most of the bugs have been fixed.

There isn't a clear distinction between Alpha and Beta testing. We continue to improve the checker’s performance according to the feedback we receive from our users. By keeping this feedback coming, I believe that it will be you and our Community to tell us what kind of test is it :smileywink:

Hi MeryGi,

Updating about ABC Checker's performance...

This screenshot shows that the tool is still not working properly:

Cheers,

Laura

Hi Laura,

The checker does not consider "tanks" in "many tanks" a mistake because "tank" is a valid English word, and "many tanks" a valid English phrase. Unfortunately, as of yet our checker cannot handle semantic ambiguities of that kind ;)

We really appriciate your valuable feedback :smileyvery-happy:

Hi all,

We have been listening to your feedback, now try out version 2 of our checker and tell us your impressions!

Also have a look at this video tutorial. It will introduce you to the new features of the Grammar and Spelling tool :smileywink:

We are looking forward to your comments!

Not a good start for me.

Check this test post.

The directions for reinstall are from one of my forum macros. I entered the first macro, then ran the new spell checker. Click apply and the formatting is lost. The paragraph code is lost. The second  instance of the macro is the way the macro displays with no spell check.

Hi Peter,

Thank for your feedback. I will reproduce on my side.

It's always good to receive comments that can help to reduce the number of false-positive results. In this way, we can continue to improve the checker's performance in order to make it more effective.:smileyhappy:

MeToo.PNG Going to test a macro:

I  feel the following may be worth a try.

Please open Run by pressing windows key + R -> devmgmt.msc -> View Show

Hidden devices -> open Non-Plug and Play Drivers-> Maximize the Screen

If you have Identity Safe data Export it ->

Go to Control panel uninstall NIS ->select the second option to

completely uninstall ->restart -> Run Norton Removal Tool -> Restart ->

Go to the maximized page -> if you find   NAVENG, NAVEX15, Norton Antivirus settings manager, starting from Symantec

Data Store to SymEvent (entries starting with Sym)  ->right click on them

click uninstall -> For the Restart prompts select no -> Goto Program files

if you find Norton Folder delete it -> Go to Run ->type temp ->Delete all

the files in there -> Run -> %temp% ->delete all ->Now Restart the PC -

>Install Norton Internet Security ->Run Live Update until you get no updates found

message ->restart PC

Let us know how it went for you.

<edit>  Ran the checker, corrected a word or two and the format remained as spread out as I set it up.  FWIW, my macro is saved with HTML formatting.

<edit 2>  when I first posted this the  MeToo.PNG was an image - it made it thru the checker, but the edit function changed it to what is now shown above.  I will not edit again and see if this ME Too stays put.

Testing again with a macro that is not in HTML

This is a situation I have come across before in NIS, N360 and NSS with previous FF upgrades. Following the exact procedure that follows has produced the desired results of the NTB appearing in FF. Do not add any additional steps such as running the Norton Removal Tool, as that may cause you to lose your ID Safe, customized settings and will also remove any other Norton programs you may happen to have installed.

Please do the following in the order I list:

Totally uninstall Firefox

Download a fresh copy of Firefox 15.0.1. from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/

Install the fresh copy of firefox.

Download a fresh copy of Norton 360 from here:

N360 Standard - www.norton.com/n360s_20

N360 Premier - www.norton.com/n360p_20

Remove Norton 360 using Programs and Features (Add/Remove Programs if you are using XP) - do not run the NRT as you'll want to keep your Identity Safe and other settings.

Install the fresh copy of Norton 360. Run LiveUpdate as many times as necessary for it to respond that there are "no updates found" (rebooting as requested by LiveUpdate).

Once all that is done in the order I am asking for you to do it, please check Firefox 15.0.1 and let us know the version number and also look at "Add-on's" and see if Norton Toolbar 2013.1.1.4 and Norton Vulnerability Protection 11.1.1.5-1 are listed and shown as enabled.

Do you now have the Norton Toolbar in FF 15.0.1?

Please let us know how this goes.

Lost format after running checker - it should be:

So it appearsif the post uses HTML and you run the checker it stays formatted - but it loses it's format when the macro is not in HTML.

Please do not use this information for anything as the downloads, FF info and NTB nd NVP versions are incorrect.

Hi all,

Last week we managed to solve the issues that Yank reported:smileyvery-happy:

Thanks to your continuous feedback we can continue to improve the performance of the checker. That's why any input is more than welcome!!! :smileyhappy:
