Welcome Cannonball
Need a few more facts before I can try to solve the mystery. Operating system? Current? Version of Outlook? Which Norton product and version? What is different now? You 'suddenly' it just disappears.
Thanks
Hi Dick
Thanks for your reply. I am on Operating system Windows 7. My Outlook is 2002. I have just installed Norton Internet Security 2011 & had hoped this would solve the problem, but it didn't. The problem arose about a month ago when my Norton Anti Spam Folder no longer had anything going in it. I used to get about 6 spam emails a day in there. I can hear emails coming in & if they are not in my Inbox I assume they are spam but the Norton AS folder never gets anything going in it now.
I would appreciate your help if you have a solution!
Regards
Cannonball
Hi CannonBall!
Can you please give us some additional information on the following. This will help us dig into the issue better..
1) Do you have more than one email account tied to outlook 2002?
2) Have you written any rules to sort/ re-arrange the incoming mails?
3) Do you have any other spam filter running alongside on Outlook?
4) Did you by any chance, upgrade to Outlook 2002 from a previous version of Outlook / Outlook Express?
5) Finally, can you look into NIS's History to see if NIS AntiSpam had really identified spams recently?
To do this, go to "Advanced" UI Mode from Main Window, click on "History", Choose category "AntiSpam" and check if there are recent spam detections.
Thanks,
Sneha
Hi Sneha
Thanks for your reply. Here are the answers to your questions:
1. Yes I have 4
2. No
3. No
4. No – always 2002
5.Cannot do this – it looks as though Anti-Spam has disappeared from installation of NIS completely
– the only way I could access it was using the Toolbar options in Outlook.
Look forward to your response
Regards
Cannonball

While the experts work things out may I suggest that you download the free copy of Malwarebytes scanner, update it and run it. Reboot and run it one more time.
I really don't like things in my computer that eat spam. They are usually more of a problem than the spam.
Let us know how the suggestion works and if needed we'll come up with more help as needed.
Hi Cannonball!
Sorry that you had to wait so long for the reply..
If you have ever renamed or deleted the 'Norton AntiSpam' folder, but have recreated a folder named 'Norton AntiSpam' under Inbox later, the incoming spams will not be moved to the new folder(that is recreated under Inbox). Instead, they will be placed in the original folder that had been tampered earlier.
In case you have deleted the actual 'Norton AntiSpam' folder, it can be found under Deleted Mails Folder(along with the spams).
You can find out the location of the hidden spams from Outlook by grouping/sorting the mails in 'Unread Mail' folder based on Folder Name. While doing this, please confirm if the unread mails, which are hidden, have the [Norton AntiSpam] Tag in their subject line.
If this does not work for you,
Go for an Advanced Find in Outlook and look for messages in 'Unread Mail' Folder. All mails in Unread Mail Folder will be displayed along with the folder name into which they are stored.
Hope this works out for you!
