Anti Theft is now conflicting with Norton Mobile

I have purchased both Norton Anti theft for the Android HTC One X and also Norton Mobile Security for the same phone.. Before I performed any updates both programs were working together and I could use all the features of anti theft through Security. But after performing an update on Mobile Security the Anti-theft box is now grayed out and it says it has an app conflict. When you touch on the icon it says that you must uninstall anti theft to avoid any conflicts.. Why is this happening and why can't I use my paid programs together anymore? Anti theft works on its own if you just enter anti-theft, but its not working with security. Now I'm missing out of special features that I have paid for with using it through Mobile Security.. PLease help. How do I get it working again..

Thanks

Steve

Hi dex408sjb

Welcome to the Norton Community Forums. :smileyhappy:

Norton Mobile Security now has it's own Anti-Theft features as part of the

application.

You can access them from the web based Norton Mobile Security  Control

Panel from the website link or URL below -

https://mobilesecurity.norton.com/

Just log in with your Norton Account details and select the device to manage. :)
.

As for the Anti-Theft product you have purchased Symantec Norton has a

full 60 day refund policy on all products if you are unhappy with a product

or have a good reason for a refund.

More info can be found from the link below about refunds -

Norton Refunds

Perhaps you could even contact the friendly staff at Norton Support Live

Chat for free via the web and explain your situation.

www.norton.com/chat

Click on the link above and fill in the required details and follow the steps

and select Chat Now if required. :)

They might be able to do something with your NMS license  as the

Anti-Theft product cannot be used anymore.

Might be worth a try as they are great at sorting out license issues with

Norton products.

As for now i would uninstall the Anti-Theft application as you no longer

require it on your Android device.

Keep us posted on how you go. :-)

Cheers. :smileywink:

Thank you very much for your quick reply.. You have answered very well. I was unaware that Norton Mobile had Anti theft built in.. I purchased anti theft first on its own via a private seller on eBay and then bought mobile security later.. Since following your directions and un-installing the stand alone anti theft I am now able to use all the full features of anti theft through mobile security. This is done by logging in to my mobile security account instead of the anti theft account.. I'm glad I only paid $7 for anti theft.. For that money I wont bother chasing anything up.. I'll just add that to the price I paid for mobile security and call it a day.. Thank you very much for your help..

Hi dex408sjb

No worries glad to help. :smileywink:

Thanks for keeping us posted. :)

As you will find the NMS (Norton Mobile Security) web Control Panel has all the

same features as the NAT (Norton Anti-Theft) web Control Panel but also has

the Scream feature which the NAT Control Panel does not have.:)

And at least you did not loose to much money on the NAT product. ;-)

And if you have any issues or questions in the future you can always come back

here to the Norton Community Forums and we will do our best to help.:smileyhappy:
