Hi,
I like this app but I'm wondering what the anti-theft component is for because according to Mr Google you can do all that stuff (lock, wipe...) directly from your Google account anyway so why does Norton duplicate it? Am I missing the point here somewhere?
Thanks,
David
Hmmm. Still seems a bit of fluff to me and given the unreliability of My Devices that can't make it's mind up whether devices are in or out, not sure I'd take the chance just in case it was out the very time I needed it and I couldn't get on to lock/wipe etc via Norton land. Google land feels safer for that bit I think.
The rest of the app I really like and I think the Privacy stuff should be in the main desktop products.
Hola @DavidCoffield,
NMS as a whole is a packaged solution too. Remember that with NMS, we can register as a device administrator and prevent users from erasing the app. So imagine a clever child who chose to erase Find my Phone (or previously Android Device Manager). We provide a method to prevent the erasure, allow for scanning, and even overlays to show whether apps have issues regarding privacy.
So think of it that way too where those features all accompany one another.
Hi Peter,
OK but the core locate/lock/wipe stuff is already there via Google accounts so why duplicate it... It doesn't matter, I was just curious.
Thanks,
David
