Anti virus down load over another Norton installation and now wont start

I did the wife a favorer and  down loaded a trial Norton 2012 over her other Norton product. Please help, marriage is at risk. When starting the computer it just keeps trying to start windows XP over and over and does a hard drive check each time. If the user is quick enough you and hit the shut down on the windows front page but that is all. In the installation stage Norton put up a warning that a change to the registration was going to occur and I said yes. Ideas please. I didn't think she had a anti virus and only saw Norton utility on her computer.

OK. Thanks for contact. Wife has her computer going but it is very slow. Word put up a text box saying high disk usage

yes I can burn another CD or use a usb stick if that works

Try this

 

Restart the PC and at the beginning keep pressing F8  to bring up the Avanced options,  Choose safe Mode, and load Windows that way.

 

Then Go about Uninstalling the Norton products.

 

Quads
