My problem is I had the Norton plug in disabled. Now after the update its enabled (not by me?) but though its said to run at start up its not?
Same problem here:
NIS version installed is 21.0.1.3
Outlook version installed is 14.0.7106.5001 (32 bits), aka Office Pro 2010 SP2
If the NIS antispam plugin is activated, then when opening/closing outlook some folders are created (from 1 to 3, number of folders looks random). The only way not to have "spam" folders created is to de-activate the anti-spam plugin.
Folder name used is always the same "the file so that changes to the file will be reflected in your item"
Thanks for fixing the problem urgently!
Hi neko386:
If you are using NIS 21.x (2014), Symantec is delivering a product update to NIS v. 21.1.0.18 via LiveUpdate that should correct this problem. See Tony Weiss' announcement of 10-Sep-2013 about this update here as well as instructions by Symantec employee sneha_renga here on how to manually delete the ghost folders in your Outlook mailbox after the v. 21.1.0.18 update is delivered.
If you are using NIS v. 20.x (2013), an upgrade to v. 21.1.0.18 will be required to fix the problem - see sneha_renga's post here.
