Antispywarexp 2009 killed Norton AV

My had recently purchased Norton Antivirus 2008, which I upgraded to 2009. I had been downloading fonts from various sites and didn’t think before downloading. However, I believe d/ling, unzipping, and installing a font became the delivery method for Antispywarexp 2009. And i downloaded so many fonts that night that I can’t say for sure which one it was. Never the less, during this, Norton never blinked, or gave me any warning. Not only did Antispywarexp keep me from going to several security software sites, it also killed Norton. By luck, I had been using different antivirus software and still had the installer on my pc. (I had removed this software once I had the new Norton software installed believing I had better protection from Norton.) I installed this antivirus software and was able to remove most of the Antispywarexp files, without making a web connection to update this programs files or signatures. At least this allowed me to use my pc. I d/led another product to remove the remaining files and settings. As of right now, Norton Antivirus will not load or otherwise will not work on my pc.  And considering how effective Antispywarexp was at rendering it useless, I’m debating whether to reinstall it or not. I have every confidence that I will not see this post show for very long, or at all. But, I will tell you that I’m very disappointed with Norton and now believe what others have been saying. I doubt that I will buy another Norton product. I know that this is a tough business keeping on top of all the new threats. But for Norton to fail on me completely as it did makes me wonder if there isn’t a better product out there.  I work in a high risk industry. And, for the sake of my customers, I feel that I cannot recommend Norton Products any longer, and feel a need to ask them to switch to something else.
