Just installed and ran a manual scan. It produced a report with one line:
.../Library/Mail ..... messsages/50006.emlx Trojan.FakeAV Infected
Whoa. I tried clicking "repair". Nothing happened. Only option was to click "Done" and see what other info I could glean.
Now all I could see was a yellow triangle warning sign in the Statistics panel and "Virus "50006.emlx" detected"
I click on the red "View Recent Activities" The Activity Log has an entry:
3/30/11 4:08 PM Manual Scan 1 Problem /Users ...... /50006.emlx
So, I have a "problem" So, can I run a repair or a quarantine anywhere?
Under Tools, I see Quarantine. But this produces an empty list. I have no files quarantined. This doesn't let me quarantine anything.
At this stage:
1/ I don't know what kind of problem I have.
2/ I don't know what I can do about the probem.
So I go and find the actual email file in the message folder and it was the usual "UPS Delivery" message which had been placed in my Junk folder - so it had not been looked at. I guess "infected" means the file is infected.
I can delete this email, but isn't this the sort of thing I should be able to quarantine?
It's all very confusing. Can someone explain where I am missing the Help which tells me what actions can be taken when finding a "problem" and a "warning!"?
