I am using a Mac running 10.7.5; Norton Anti-Virus 12.7 (57). No new hardware or software recently. Regular yearly update time for Norton is months away. Looking at today in the history function, all green checkmarks for LiveUpdate for this evening.
I had been using the computer for about two hours this evening when it suddenly gave me a little error message: "AntiVirus Auto-Protect could not load the kernel extension. Please run LiveUpdate or reinstall Norton Antivirus and restart." (Please see attached screen shots)
I restarted. Same problem (immediately). Reinstalling would not seem to be an option as I have no idea where the disk from years ago is or do not know where I might have any other pertinent information (codes). It's on autorenew, so I figured no worries (dummy).
Virus protection is off and each time I put it on, seconds later I get the same error message and virus protection is off again.
Many thanks for your help!
