"AntiVirus Auto-Protect could not load the kernel extension."

I am running Norton AntiVirus 12.7 on Mac OS 10.8.5.

I receive the following error: "AntiVirus Auto-Protect could not load the kernel extension." I have run LiveUpdate and reinstalled Norton AntiVirus and restarted as instructed.

I continue to receive the error message, and Virus Protection is disabled.
