Antivirus early load settings problems & also Norton's lack of certifications

1. It appears that when I utilize the early load feature to maximize my virus protection it interfers with other utilities during startup, usually this affects Windows XP's check disk. Just a small problem but it should be looked into, funny enough it does not affect the other computer running Vista Ultimate X64 bit.

2. It's a little unnerving to discover that Symantec's Norton consumer product lacks any certification by ICSA labs, West Coast Labs, VB 100, or AVtest . org. Again I am refering to consumer not Symantec's business suites. Any comment on why Symantec lacks these certifications? Did I choose the wrong AV solution?

Comments appreciated and thanked for in advance.

Greetings SendOfJive,

To elaborate more on the interference I am noticing it is when I use Windows XP's Check Disk utility, when I set it to run at next startup XP skips the disk check and goes directly to the desktop. When I disabled the early load feature I was then able to scan with Windows Check Disk program. As far as I know I this the PC is well suited enough to run this advanced early load feature. Specs:

Windows XP OS

2 GB RAM

AMD Athlon X2 3000

Nvidia Geforce 210 512 MB RAM

500 GB Seagate SATA 2 HDD

As for the certifications I am referring to the latest tests conducted by each orginization I referred to in my prior post. In all fairness I am uncertain about the VB 100 as you need to be a member (which I am not) to be able to see the test results. But I will view the site you referenced.

Thanks

Symantec (including the consumer range) passed the latest VB100 as well.
