Hi, jesspk. This link might be helpful.
I think this might solve your problem, but I'm not certain.
Eric
Hey Eric thanks for the link I’m not sure how to tell if I have patch 15.5 but I ran LiveUpdate and still no luck for me I don’t see the phish bar.
Are you using NIS 2008?
Hi, jesspk. The 15.5 is the version number of NIS2008 to which the patch would be applied. If you have NIS2008 you can find the version number by clicking Help & Support and then About and then the Norton Internet Security tab. When I upgraded from FF 2 to FF3 I had the problem you have and the patch hadn't been made available. I wound up downloading a new copy of NIS2008 and installing over my existing one. This made the plugin usable in FF again. Probably not the most elegant method but it worked for me.
Eric
Why reinstall NIS 2008 when you can just use NIS 2009…
Hi, Dieselman743. When I had the problem NIS 2009 hadn’t been released. I’ll eventually upgrade, but for now my NIS2008 is stable and not causing me any problems. You know the old saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
That saying isnt true for this. NIS 2009 is the best there is. Its a million times faster then NIS 2008. You will only benefit from installings NIS 2009.
Try starting FF3 in safe mode (Start>mozilla firefox>run in safe mode). Then shut down FF3 and restart FF3 normally. This may fix the toolbar.
hey Phil unfortunately it did not work for me can anyone post maybe a print screen of where it will be located or maybe step by step processes to retrieve my antiphishing? I’m more of a visual learner.
The smartest thing to do is reset firefox. After you backupped your favorites offcourse. I will have a look on how to do that
Sorry, Start>all programs>mozilla Firefox >mozilla firefox (safe mode)
worked for me. You may need a reboot afterwards. I have found that some plugins may affect the toolbar.
