Any Issues File/Folder recovery of Standard Compressed Files?

Hi to All,

Any Issues File/Folder recovery of Standard Compressed Files?

I am moving data files from XP machine to Win7 Pro.

See http://community.norton.com/t5/Other-Norton-Products/Help-with-new-DELL-Precision-Workstation-Set-up-Config-OS-Prog/td-p/873718

I have just restored the Outlook .pst file from an independent recovery point (IRP). Original size 672 MB compressed at the standard level by Ghost to 459 MB or 32% compression.

Have there been any issues with the recovered compressed files working properly?

I use CCH Pfx tax software and they could not guarantee success.

I restored  a full  image in December and no issues with the compressed files.

I could run an IRP with Compression level set to None and restore uncompressed  files and folders.

Is the standard compression level reliable? I looked through the forum and found no bloodshed on this issue so I would conclude from everyone's silence that the standard compression level is reliable.. Yes, No?

I would prefer to run the backup jobs at the standard compression level for speed.

Looking forward to comments.

Thanks

Bob
