Any point to having this on Droid X?

Im aware of programs like lookout and mcafee and norton for my droid x and i have tried them all and they have never found any infections.. only thing i notice is they kill my battery alot faster and make my phone run slower.. why would i need them if they impact performance so badly??

The number of trojanized apps and/or malware apps has continued to increase.  If you noticed battery drain, I'd be curious if you experienced the same with NMS installed.  If so, we could take a look at what happened and determine what is going on.  We had some reports of battery drain with 1.0, but we did some digging and some changes in 1.5 and 2.0 should have addressed most of these.  Again, if you experience unusual battery drain we would be more than happy to investigate.

Hi, fibercarbon,

Erik is right: as we carry more and more of our sensitive data on our mobile devices, through banking apps, e-mail accounts, eCommerce accounts we access through our Web browsers or other apps (e.g., Amazon), etc., our smartphones are becoming more and more attractive targets to cybercriminals looking to steal our money--or even our identities.

Beyond that, because mobile devices are so mobile, being able to find one that we've accidentally left somewhere--or that's been picked up by a garden-variety thief--before the battery runs down or gets removed can save us a bunch of money and the worry that somebody out there may have access to all sorts of information about ourselves and our families. NMS offers those functions and more--including the ability to remotely trigger a "poison pill"  that wipes your phone and any SD card clean, with a text from the nearest cellphone you can borrow. It also enables you to block all incoming calls or text messages from specific numbers, like robodialers selling Viagara or debt collectors trying to squeeze money out of somebody you've never even heard of before.

I've bought it for both my mobile devices--and am satisfied enough that I'm volunteering here to help my fellow users with questions just like this!

Welcome to our community. We're here if you need us.

Downloaded to my Droid X phone. Asked for billing information to pay for this product. Will follow up on weather I get billed for this or not. Was  informed works for Microsoft OS phone only via online chat support and and was informed of this. By the way, Verizon offers the same protection for theft, but at another fee higher than what is offered here.  Just an FYI.

All, if not most apps want access to everything you have on your phone.  Would be nice to stop this. This is Piracy to our personal rights and well, freedom.

The information that this was for Windows Phone was definitely incorrect.  Could you send me a private message with your case number?  That way I can ensure that the agent involved is corrected.

Moved to own thread for better exposure.
