Any tips to speed up network speed?

So here's my problem:

1) Install NIS 2012 on Computer A but NOT on Computer B. Things are good. Network copy speeds remain at 80MB/s or higher.

2) Install NIS 2012 on BOTH Computer A and B. Network copy speeds drop down to an abysmal 40MB/s or less.

In scenario 2 I am able to speed up the copy speeds a little by turning off intrusion prevention but I'm not sure if that's really a viable fix since you are disabling a core part of NIS right? The odd thing is that after I install NIS, even if I shut NIS down via taskbar icon, my network copy speed is still not as fast as before having NIS installed.

I'm probably missing A setting or something other is the reason for this post. If anyone has a clue how I can keep NIS installed and get my copy speeds back up I would greatly appreciate the help.

I actually did try it with full trust and exclude from ips before making this post. It helped a little but still my copy speeds are below the 50% mark.
