Just upgraded to NIS2010 v. 17.5.0.127, seems to be up-to-the-minute.
Tested vs. annoying NAS slowdown; despite "full trust" assignment to both NAS & switch for test purposes, NIS is attenuating transfer speeds. Contrary to what I've read (to the effect that "disabling" is ineffective & "uninstalling" is essential to mitigate slowdown), I find that disabling both NIS-AV + NIS-FW radically improves transfer speeds on (large) file dumps, no incremental benefit accrues from uninstall over "disable" so long as both functions are so disabled.
System is Vista64, Raid5 4-drive NAS, all Cat6, gigabit switch between targets. Issue remains if NAS is directly attached (ethernet) to PC so long as NIS AV & FW are enabled. Problem is demonstrably bidirectional.
Thanks
