All: BleepingComputer also offers a free tool named RKill which will detect malicious processes that are hidden, disable them and allow antivirus / malware software to detect, then remove them. I have recommended and used the tool extensively.

Hi DHemphil:
What is your computer make/model, operating system (if Win 10 let us know the Version and Build - see the TechSmith article How to Check Windows 10 Build), Norton product name and version number, and default browser? Does this only happen when you're typing in your browser or any time you type with your keyboard? Is this a laptop with a built-in keyboard or desktop with a USB-connected or wireless keyboard?
if you have any concerns that your system has been infected by malware that was not detected by Norton I'd suggest you start by running a second-opinion Threat Scan with Malwarebytes Free. The latest Malwarebytes Free v4.x scanner (Windows 7 or higher, Mac, iOS, Android) can be downloaded at https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/; Win XP and Vista users can download the legacy Malwarebytes Free v3.5.1 installer at https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb3-windows-legacy.
If you are using Malwarebytes Free for Windows and aren't familiar with this malware scanner make sure you deactivate the 14-day trial of the Premium features at Settings | Account | Deactive after installation as instructed <here> (this will avoid possible conflicts with the real-time protection features of Norton) and just use Malwarebytes Free. I also have Settings | Security | Potentially Unwanted Items (described <here>) set to Warn User for both PUPs and PUMs (potentially unwanted programs and registry modifications like browser toolbars, adware, potentially dangerous utilities like registry cleaners and driver updaters, etc.) so I'm always notified before any lower-risk threats are removed.
