I like Norton for internet security and anti-virus protection but the Norton Family Online doesn't quite suit my needs for monitoring my kids on Facebook. I want to see the details of the private messages and chats my teen does on Facebook. Right now, I can't monitor chat and can only view private messages IF she doesn't delete them. All her received private messages are copied into her e-mail account which I can read, but I can't read what she sends if she deletes it. This is a major problem for me.
Does anyone have a parental monitoring system where they can go and read all chat and private messages/conversations on Facebook?

Are you saying that this Sentry protection actually records all Facebook private messages and chat? Even if your child deletes the private messages before they sign off? And the chat? Right now Facebook doesn’t even save chats within itself so if another program can report exactly what’s being said for later reading, that’s awesome. Please advise!
Are you talking about private messages being the chat box that pops up at the bottom of Facebook? I think it's the same thing as chat, unless you mean private emails.
And the answer is yes, it does. I log into the website, and select the user and computer I want to see reports on, similiar to the Norton product, and then I can see all the chats/private messages that happened.
It will not however record EMAIL messages. (There is another product that can do that, but it's more complicated).
Again, I do not work for Sentry, but I do use their product to overcome the shortcomings of Norton Online Family not being able to come through with chat recording, even though they have been promising it's 'coming soon' now for 2 years.
I am talking about two things actually. 1) facebook private messages. Those are the messages the kids send back and forth that are only seen by those sending. They don’t ever appear on the facebook page itself for everyone to see. And 2) the actual online chat. That’s the little box of conversation at the lower right corner. You can pick who you want to chat with and when the chat is over and you sign off, the conversation is gone. According to Facebook, there’s no way to recall that conversation. What’s happening with my daughter is, she knows I monitor her page and often deletes the private messages. I see some anyway because although she deletes the conversations, she forget to delete the “sent” folder so I can still see what she’s saying. Often she “chats” because she knows when she logs off, those chats are not saved and I can not view them. Sometimes it’s the only window I have into what she’s actually doing and would have no idea otherwise. I am very interested in a plan that would save all her social networking chats even if she deletes them so I could review them later. If this Sentry program can do that, I would be willing to check it out. I’m sorry that Norton can not do that at this time. I do like their internet security/virus protection and have used it for a few years. I think their current family protection is great for the younger kids but falls way short for teenagers who are quite crafty. Not as crafty as we parents are, but a great program to monitor them better would scale back on the exhaustion!
I understand what you are talking about now. It does log and keep the lower right corner. You can try it out I think for a trail period and see if it does what you want it to.
