Problems w/AOL have been getting worse. Very awkward when updating Norton. Have dial-up. Recently, tried numerous times to do annual renew Internet Security 2005 but kept getting AOL can't handle large file. Wouldn't allow as text, either, wanted to look for another program. Now past subscription end date.
Yes, I want to dump AOL soon and move to Verizon DHL. But in meantime, am I better off just going to store and getting Norton latest edition? But if I do, will I have same problems when I do updates?
Please, on board replies only. (You understand, AOL & dial-up very slow.)

Thanks much,

The store option will do for now.
Thye latest NIS09 is easier to work with and much faster. It will give you less problems with the updates
Thanks, Stu. That'g pretty much what I've figured I'd better do. Just very concerned about what happens next time around if AOL-ful won't handle renewal file. Not amusing when dealing w/dial-up too. Hopefully, I'll be able to handle via the website vs doing thru my Norton program. Already out $20.
Not quite sure why you had to try to download a large file to renew your 2005 -- was it to get the current 2009?
Anyway if you are out of pocket because you can't download and end up buying a store copy (and there are some cheap offers around often. Check the weekend flyers and I see NIS 2009 3 user for $20 after discounts and upgrade rebate) then contact Customer Support and explain the situation since they may be able to sort this out equitably.
The issue is due to AOL which you have set it as the defualt browser. The Norton 2005 program is designed to integrate with only Internet Explorer(default browser) for all operating systems during subscription renewal/purchase. To resolve this, temporarily make Internet Explorer the default Web browser. After you complete the purchase, you can set AOL back to be your default browser.
