hi
is Norton going to come out with app lock for windows 10
You are welcome. Glad I could help.
Thank you peterweb,
I searched for the review where I believed that I had read that the app lock was included in NMS but could not remember (or find) where I had read it! Those reviews that I did read do indeed state that it needs to be an additional download. I just wanted to be sure that I was not overlooking something before downloading it.
Once again, thank you very much for your comments.

Do you have a link to one of those reviews saying that the App Lock was included? To date, it has always been a separate app from NMS. NMS will suggest App Lock, Norton Secure VPN, and Norton Password Manager apps be added to your device, but they are not part of NMS.
There is an option in App Lock to require the App Lock PIN to access the recent apps list. In the App Lock app, tap the three bars at the top left and tap Settings. Turn on Lock Recent Apps list. Then test.
That’s not secure …anyone can see the contents… even take a picture of it… if you have passwords stored there they will be visible…it shows just about the whole page
It may show the contents, but will not allow you to interact with the app if you tap on it in the recent apps list.

Are you referring to the App Lock app does not ask for the password? If so, open App Lock and tap on the three bars at the top left, then tap on the setting for Device Administrator, and deactivate that. The go to Android settings - Apps and look for App Lock. Clear the App Data. Then restart your device, reset the device administrator, and test. You will probably have to re enable the apps you want to protect.
This may work for you also.
I restarted the phone, it is currently working. However, I have noticed that the application did not ask the password even for its launch.

After lasy update doesn't work on 1+1.
Are you saying it does not lock the app at all? And just the one app? Try disabling that app in App Lock. Then restart your device and re enable the app and test.

Just to confirm, you are leaving the app running in the background when you go to another app. Then you try to access the app from the recent apps button and you are asked for the App Lock pass code?
I have the same issue and question. Samsung S8+ on Oreo v8.0.0.
What device are you using and what Android version?
I am guessing that the developers assumed that once you open an app, you would probably use it then close the app and you would still maintain physical control of the device until it is allowed to sleep. In this scenario, there is no security risk because the same user that originally opened the app is probably the one that would open it again.
You might post a suggestion in the product suggestions board to add a setting to disable the option to keep the app unlocked until sleep. https://community.norton.com/forums/product-suggestions
Personally, I like it the way it is now. I often go to Android setting for example, enter the App Lock PIN, make a change, close the settings and test something. I then want to put the settings back and I am not bothered by the need to enter the App Lock PIN again. 2 minutes after my phone is inactive, it goes to sleep and resets the App Lock.
I have to use pattern once then it won’t ask for pattern again til phone goes to sleep
To confirm, you never have to use the pattern you set up to access a locked app? The message you mention usually comes up after entering a PIN or pattern you have set up.
What device are you using and what Android version?
