Was your v24 pushed via LiveUpdate?
Did you pull v24 setup from your Norton account?
Do your other programs run as normal?
Have you run Smart Firewall → General → Restore default settings?
Have you clean installed Norton 360 v24?
if you want to try v22.x
try → norton.com/cspn360 (DSP-N360-ESD-22.23.10.10-EN.exe)
The app is a C# code I generated with Visual Studio Community. I have other apps I generated with Visual Studio Community that do not have this problem.
v24 was pushed via LiveUpdate
Why would I run “Have you run Smart Firewall → General → Restore default settings?” ?
I don’t want default setting.
No, I have not clean installed Norton 360 v24. I prefer Norton fix their problems.
Okay…so, I won’t be able to reproduce my side.
I’m thinking you’ll need to create exclusions.
Developers, as I recall, report issues with VisualStudio + v22.
v22 Data Protector was involved.
v24 Ransomware Protection is akin to v22 Data Protector.
Does Ransomware Protection reports related events?
Sorry, I will not be able to help.
Yes, your report is not likely related to v24 install.
Although, your report is likely related to v24 installed.
I’m thinking you’ll need to create exclusions/permissions.
Rather then looking at exclusion since other app have almost the same code and don’t have this problem, wouldn’t it be better to fix the problem?
One real bug is that Norton verifies the app is OK and allowed, but closes it.
That should be a no brainier for an programmer to verify the error in the code.
