Apparent conflict with Norton 360 and System Works

I just installed Norton 360 version 5 as a renweal/replacement for Norton Firewall.  Now System Works indicates an error that needs urgent attention, showing a message that "There is no virus protection installed on your computer. You are not protected against viruses and other risks".

I have run Live Update from Norton 360 twice and it indicates that I am up-to-date and protected.

So why does System Works continue to show an urgent error?

Hi Loutrim,

Welcome to Norton Community!

The last version of Norton SystemWorks was Norton SystemWorks 12(2009 version), and it has been discontinued by Symantec. It is known that Norton SystemWorks won't integrate with the latest versions of Norton Internet Security/Norton 360 and won't be able to recognize the latest version as it is built over a new engine. So, Norton SystemWorks may indicate "Urgent Attention" status for your Antivirus and virus definitions. You can ignore those warnings, you can find the status of Norton 360 from it's icon in system tray(bottom-right corner).

Hello loutrim

I would recommend that you uinstall system works as you will find many attempts of the old program trying to do some of the things that N360 tries to do. It will probably conflict with N360 and may have caused N360 not to have installed properly. Thanks.
