The new "Smart Firewall" of 2012 is terribly dumbed down - it may make most things simple, but gone is the excellent utility of NIS 2011's firewall where you could have it ask each time a new program attempted to connect to the network. I liked this - the first time the program would try to access it, you could give simple options "Block this once, Block Always, Always Allow, Allow this Once", etc.
Now there's something similar available with lots of knob twiddling, but it's complete crap. Now I have Chrome asking me 40 times a day if it can access the Internet, and I'm almost positive that some of hte applications I want to block are still punching through..
Anyone else found a decent workaround to this besides going back to NIS 2011?

Jeff
