Application Feedback - Norton Mobile Security
-Note: running on Android 2.3.3 on Motorola Droid X.
-Anti-Malware and Live Update
1. Add ‘Quarantine’ list/screen to allow users to review questionable security threats.
2. Add ‘Allow Apps’ list/screen to allow users to exclude apps from scan and/or remove from quarantine.
3. Add ‘time of day’ schedule option to ‘Scan’ and ‘Live Update’ to allow users to set when the tasks run. Consider adding a ‘Recurrence’ option to repeat tasks every X hours.
4. Change ‘Scheduled Scan’ wording to ‘Enable Schedule’ in ‘Anti-Malware’ screen for consistent wording with the ‘Live Update’ screen.
5. Add ‘Settings’ button with ‘Community Watch’, ‘Live Update’, ‘Summary Report’, and ‘Activity Log’.
-Activity Log and Summary Report
1. Add an option to overwrite log entries by log file size or entry date range.
2. Add an option to sort log entries by date, app, publisher, or event such as file scan, system scan, etc.
3. Add a ‘Find’ option to filter entries related to specific app or publisher.
4. Add ‘Save’ button to ‘Activity Log’ to allow users to email log file or save locally to SD card. Use date-time stamp as part of the log file name.
5. Add ‘Summary Report’ option to email or SMS text with subscription status and an activity summary report. Include events such as total files scanned, threats found, quarantined, removed, etc. Allow users to set schedule to send report; e.g.: daily, weekly, monthly.
*User Interface
1. Add ‘Settings’ button as noticeable visible alternative to phone device buttons. Apply on the ‘Anti-Theft’, ‘Anti-Malware’, NMS home screen, etc.
2. Add ‘Norton by Symantec’ graphic to footer to each screen with link to Norton Mobile website. The ‘Anti-Malware’, ‘About’, ‘Help & Support’, and NMS home screens already have the Norton graphic, but need the web link. The ‘Anti-Theft’, ‘Report a Problem’, and other screens need both the graphic and web link. This is a subtle detail, but helps provide a consistent experience and promotes brand and product visibility.
3. In ‘Report a Problem’ add web link to Norton Mobile Support and/or Community websites.
