Are NIS 2010 version 17.6.0.32 and Norton Add On Pack 4.5.0.24 compatible

I uninstalled and reinstalled NIS 2010 because I wasn't seeing any firewall activities and network connection entries in my security history after my computer updated to version 17.6.0.32

After my reinstall I was running version 17.6.0.32 and security history entries ok now.

But

When I try to download the Norton addon Pack 4.5.0.24 i get an error from norton saying the version of addon pack i am trying to install has to be run with NIS 2010. well I am running NIS 2010

I am wondering if there is a glitch between NIS 2010 17.5.0.127 with the addon pack 4.5.0.24 and the new version 17.6.0.32?

Hi TomV,

That is great news. I was wondering if it was because of the update to 17.6.0.32

Could you also PM me when the AOP 4.6 is available, in case I don't see it here on the message board.

Thanks,

 Kevin

Add-on Pack 4.6 is available for download from the Web. Open the Parental and Privacy Control settings menu and click on the link available to download and install the latest version of Add-on Pack.

And unfortunately it is this update to version 4.6 that is causing the trouble of updating MBAM 1.45.

Turning Parental and Privacy Control temporarily off is the workaround for this problem (see other thread on this forum).

Hopefully there will be an update/patch for this problem soon.

TomV

I downloaded and installed AddOn Pack 4.6 and everything seems ok. Parental Controls working fine, History logs working fine.

However, since I am now running the add on pack with Parental Controls I can no longer update MBAM.  But I figured that would be the case, since apparently there is a compatibility problem between the add on pack and MBAM.

For me, theNIS Add On Pack Parental Controls working are more important than MBAM updating.

Thanks,

 Kevin

One other thing. You told me in an earlier post that if I subscribed to this message I would be notified when  the add on pack was updated or when this post was updated. I never received a notice. Was I supposed to get a PM or something showing in my account screen?

Hi TomV,

We talked about the emails back in October of 09, if you remember. I told you I never receive club symantec emails or norton emails selling products or upgrades. I still don't

The only time I receive an email from symantec is when I  am  chatting with tech support and they send me verification numbers if we get disconnected, or survey emails after tech support session.

I don't understand why I only receive selective emails from symantec, but I do.?? Since I get certain emails I have to be on symantecs email  list.

If you know a solution, please let me know.

Thanks,

 Kevin

also they come to my inbox, not my junk folder. so we are ok on that.

Thanks
