What I find troubling is that it seems every time this "ransomware" strikes, people are always directed to this TOR project site to download this mysterious browser which seems to serve as a gateway with the criminals.  Does anyone know if there is any effort to take down this TOR project site?  If in fact it is a facilitator of malevolent activities (which in my mind it is) it should NOT be allowed to continue.

TOR project...

In 2011, a group of researchers acquired the IP addresses of 10,000 people who were using BitTorrent clients through Tor. Like many other types of applications, BitTorrent clients are insecure and capable of exposing your real IP address.

(Personally, somehow, using BitTorrent itself is not recommended, when it comes to "infringing copyright") 

There're better VPN service provider such AVG's HMA, VyprVPN, why bother with this TOR?
