Hi,
I've been a long time user of Symantec/Norton products. I can honestly say for over 10 years now. I always did my best to buy the latest versions when it was necessary to make sure I was always up to date.
Last year I bought NIS 2010 for 3 PCs. As always, when I hit my one year mark this year (today) it says my subscription has expired. In the past when my subscription expired it meant that I couldn't run Live Update or just even update the software package but I was still allowed to use it until I could afford to buy a new copy or extend my subscription. Today when it expired I was not allowed to use my Norton product at all and was informed my computer was at risk that I needed to renew my subscription.
The response I got from Tech Support was that we need to have an active subscription to run the Norton products on our computer. Does this mean that Symantec is now renting out the software on a year to year lease? If this is the case they need to be more open about that.
OS: Win 7 - 32
NIS: 18.5.0.125
Thank you for your time.
