I've been a big fan of NIS, but version 17.7.0.12 seems to have a problem with Windows 7 64-bit and I'm getting very annoyed. Soon after my copy was automatically upgrade from 17.6.x.x to 17.7.0.12 I started getting red flag messages from Windows saying that NIS was reporting that it wasn't working.
Somebody here suggested reinstalling NIS. I did, and the latest version available is 17.6.x.x. Things worked fine, the system eventually automatically upgraded to 17.7.0.12, and then withing days or a week or two I got the red flag messages again.
So, I uninstalled and reinstalled and once again things were fine. Again, I was automatically upgrade to 17.7.0.12, and now am getting a different red flag message from Windows. NIS reports that it is out of date. NIS shows that I am "at risk" and says the last time Live Update was run was 146 days ago.
When I click the red Fix Now button, I get success for "Check for updates" and "Download updates" but "Process updates" shows "Failed to complete" and I'm still "at risk."
What can I do? Help!
