Authentication error after reinstalling Norton Family client

Hi,
 
After receiving a message from Norton Family instructing me to reinstall Norton family client on my son's computer, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Norton family client.
 
However when running the software for the first time I was asked to enter my user credentials, but I kept getting an error message claiming that "Authentication failed. Verify your email address, password, and Internet connection, and then try again."
 
Attempting to enter the same email/pswd that logs me on just fine to the Norton family website resulted in the same error message.
 
My son's PC is running windows 7, I downloaded the latest Norton Family client. The windows 7 user is an administrator. I also tried using a standard user, but got the same error message.
 
I hope you can help me resolve this problem.
