Can anybody please help .. thanks Paul

Thanks I've reloaded every thing but I am still having the same problem... NIS keeps showing at risk but if I switch off monitor on Antivirus and Advanced Protection and have it on Ignore it seems to be alright but I don't think I am getting proper security..Its a worry I might have to give up on it.

Try to use the autofix tool. You can reach it by clicking on the One Click Support, and there start a session, it will first scan your product (this is the autofix tool), and if it can’t find anything you can still will for the support guy, or close it and came back to us for more ideas.

I have  used the autofix tool and One Click Support..still no luck.

I've emailed the problem to tech. support..

Can I get by with  AntVirus and Advanced Protection on Ignore?

Thanks Paul

If norton say it’s turned off (don’t know why), the ignore button is just ti hide problem, so not an actual solution, and you can be at risk too, because norton can’t work, and gives you only minimal protection…

Hey Paul,

I think it is some problem with the UI not showing the appropriate message. Though, I dont think we can write off any potential conflicts that have disabled it protection either. I remember having an issue with NIS 08 showing Auto-Protect turned off last year.

Until their tech support turned up to troubleshoot the problem, I wanted to make sure if I'm secure and this is what I did.

1. Go to EICAR site and download a fake malware (in other words EICAR Threat). They are harmless and you can find more information about it in their Website before you attempt to download.

2. Execute the threat that you downloaded and see if your product catches it. If Auto-Protect throws an alert, then rest assured that it is a problem with the UI and not the feature itself.

If your immediate concern is to know if you are protected, then this is my recommendation. Tried and tested, trust me.
