Let's try this:
- Open Norton Protection Center and click on Norton Internet Security
- Click on the heading "Settings"
- Looking at Basic Security, I am assuming "Auto Protect" is off?
- click on "Auto Protect" and choose Configure
- Now check "turn on auto protect" ( I also check turn on bloodhound heuristics and turn on caching)
- make sure you hit the "Apply" button on the bottom
- Close everything out and reboot the computer. Let us know if this fixed your problem
What version are you running?
ok I did everything you said but after I turned on autoprotect and Bloodhound heuristics i clicked ok at the bottom. As soon as I opened the configure back up again it was all turned back off agian. You said click apply at the bottom? the only things at the bottom are "Use All Defaults" at the far left then on the right there is "OK", "Cancel", and "Page Default". after changing it to the settings you suggested I clicked "ok" because there is no "apply" button. Could this possably be the problem??
Im trying to figure out how to tell what version it is? It was a 90-day free introductory subscription that came with my computer. I havent needed to renew it yet.
Maybe you should not put on Caching as you are not going to be Full Protected with regard to Auto-Protect; I would, however, get Aouto-Protect to Start on system Start-Up.
