Why not upgrade to the latest version? Norton 2008

That will probably do the trick

hi ianzro - Stu's recommendation is probably the better way to go (2008 is free with a valid 2007 subscription and can be obtained from this location) - but if you are interested in checking if the problem can be solved without the over-install, try this article.

if that doesn't help, can you recall if your used Windows Restore or hit a blue screen recently?

mel

Unfortunately,I live in the philippines...so it is really hard to get a ORIGINAL copy of this 2008...I also wanted to buy one of this new things like the new Norton 2008 but I really cannot buy a cd of this thing...

by the way,My OS is winxp service pack 2...no,I didn't suffer from those blue screen things....

I already do the steps...BUT i don't use the Norton removal thingy...because this might get worst...I am a 14 year old boy...I use this laptop for good...and i don't wanna put any Malicious software in this laptop...

by the way, I also know how to speak geek....so even you throw me hard lines i still know what you are saying :robottongue:

You still are able to reach the links Melodic posted aren't you?

Using the NRT tool is getting things done for you. It won't get things worse

You should be able to download the 2008 version from the Norton Internet Security 2008 Installation page without a CD.

Sorry for the misunderstanding...I thought that the link that was give to me...the http://www.norton.com/newnis I thought that it is Broken or something And specially we don't buy cd online >.<

anyway....thanks for finding the link...There's Also 1 Problem...I quarantined a somewhat a USB virus that goes to the hard drive C:...Even you delete it manually by using cmd.exe...before anything happens...My question is....do quarantined items also go to the new version??

Also...another question...What if....I still have a Norton Internet Security 2002...can i still upgrade it??or any lower versions??

anyways....thank you for your time...

It is always advisable to uninstall the “old” version first and than install te latest

The licensing primarily changed in the 2006 versions and only 2006 or latter versions are entitled to the free upgrade with a paid subscription.
