I got a new laptop and installed Norton Security Suite, which is provided by my mi ISP (Comcast). Everything works fine on a fresh Norton install, but after I update it the auto-protect keeps getting disabled, won't fix, and any time I attempt a scan it results in an error.
The Norton version is 22.9.3.13 and my laptop is Windows 10 64 bit.
I have Norton installed on 2 other computers, both of which are also Windows 10 64 bit with the same update version, and neither are encountering any issues.
Looking around for a solution, I came across this thread https://community.norton.com/en/forums/auto-protect-not-working-0 which perfectly explains the issue I'm encountering. In it Symantec patched the issue, but apparently it's back now.
I attempted every solution listed there. Disabled fast startup. Set boot-time protection to aggressive. Reinstalled it over 5 times when attempting different solutions. Tried full shutdowns between updates. Remove and reinstall tool doesn't seem to work, maybe because I'm using the Comcast provided version. I can't think of what else I can do to make it work.
