Auto-Protect off after a while

I have a computer with Norton. This computer hasn't turned on for 7+months. Obviously Windows updates were out of date so is Nortons live update and a scan was needed... But is it normal all  Norton's Auto-protection is all turned off after this time? Subscription & PC was still active...

Thanks for the post back.

Sorry, my mistake...i ment 22.24.2.6.  My brain knew this but my body does what it needs or want to do. Or... it could be the otherway around, i am not really sure anymore.

We would like a screenshot of what your version shows to validate and have someone Norton have a look. You can use this guide to capture the screenshot, works on Windows 10 as well:

Here is an older screenshot from my PC.

The EAP version as posted in not 22.25.2.5, I am almost certain no one else would have it.

yes, its 22.25.2.5 ;)

That numbering would be for a version released in 2025. Are you on the Early Adopter versions of Norton?

yes, its 22.25.2.5 ;)

I believe on starting the machine, Norton was red and a norton pop-up asks to fix problems. I clicked on yes fix all(or some equivalent, i don't have the english version) When i agreed Norton stated to so scan and turned everything back online. After my Windows updated has completed i restarted the PC and Norton asked again to do a live-update. After that Norton 360 seemed to be happy.

So it seems i have no issue, i just think it was weird auto-protect was turned off...

Answering your question regarding a device being in "layup" aka not used for extended time periods. Norton will remain active as long as the subscription it belongs to is active. When it is brought online again it should automatically run a live update session, install any updates that are available. Restart any processes or features that haven't ran while dormant. Most times, that all takes place via a notice on the main UI that fixes are required. When you tell Norton to run the fixes. They should run and tell you what may or may not be required that takes your intervention. That is normal. Are all your settings in Norton now available?

Wondering!! You said:

I am on 22.24.1.6 i think. I did another live-update just because you ask. one part of the update always says (it will update later automatically) did it manually anyway. the version is now 22.25.2.5.

That version 22.25.2.5 doesn't exist. Running Live Updates my Norton install remains at 22.24.2.6. Please recheck your version within the UI, under Help>General Information>About.

Everything seems to work okay. You see, One of my PC's is dead. Not sure yet if its related to software, hardware or a virus.

So i fired up my other PC. And Norton was completely down. I expected it need a live-update/Scan and so on after so much time. However also Auto-protect was down, safe webcam down & behavior protection(transelation?)

Just wanted to know if Norton shuts itself off after 7 months of being inactive/not updating.

Obviously the first thing i did is Fix Norton & Windows update.

Hello Maxi24. What version does your Norton install say you have? The latest version is 22.24.2.6 . Does live update work as they should and have you rebooted the computer then rechecked?
