Automatic renewals

Be aware. Norton automatically takes payment at least 1 month before the date of annual renewal without warning. There is no direct support to question this.

Customers may cancel Automatic Renewal enrollment at any time by:
- Following instructions at the end of their online shopping experience
- Following instructions in their  order confirmation email
- Signing in to Norton Account and opting-out

at www.mynortonaccount.com

I would also suggest checking with the Norton OnLine Customer Support as below using the CHAT option since we get golod reports on them. Perhaps leave it a few days in case it takes time for the servers to synchronize.

To contact customer support Click on this link and work on from there. You may have to scroll down a little to see the CHAT button.

You can choose CHAT or Email; email or phone may have a long wait time and feedback from users tells us that CHAT is by far the best at resolving problems.

Note that that link is to the USA/CAN website so if you are located elsewhere I'm sure you will be able to find the equivalent location on your local Symantec website; some pages have a link at the top right where you can select the country you are located in.

Please let us know how you get on ....

Maybe, two Norton accounts.  IDK...just trying to imagine why you're not able to reach Norton support & why you're not receiving renewal notices.  Regards w Respect

[...] Basically there is no support. So called chat does not exist. Unlike Bullguard, there is no way to send emails requesting technical support and there is no online support portal. BG was great to contact and gave more or less immediate support, answering emails and having a portal for you to seek help. Issues would be resolved quickly. [...]

Learn something every day. Just came across by clicking 'Subscribe' to see what happened - glad I did now. At my age don't like changes.

Cheers

recurring subscription service = disabled
png_19371.pngpng_19370.png

I used to have auto renewal turned off which shows number of days left before renewal, Subscribe used to connect to Norton Account & would add auto renewal if clicked. If turned off, 'Help', 'Subscription Status' used to state 'You are not enrolled for automatic renewal. To the left was a box 'Renew Now' which allowed you pay, from memory, a year ahead if wanted - that box is no longer available so the only alternative left is Auto Renewal. It appears all companies now are auto renewal that provide services.

Just tried 'Subscribe', now takes me to a page allowing me pay now, it retrieved card details, payment went thru' - confirmation email - now covered to September next year. Turned Off auto renewal - now shows 458 days left.

When you stop your subscription from automatically renewing:

  • Your subscription will continue through the end of your already paid subscription term, after which it will end and not automatically renew.

  • It typically takes a few hours from your request for the change to take effect.

  • Any benefits associated with automatically renewing subscriptions may end when you stop your subscription from automatically renewing.

Hello @MJW

  • Renewal: subscriptions automatically renew unless the renewal is cancelled before billing. Renewal payments are billed annually (up to 35 days before renewal) or monthly depending on your billing cycle. Annual subscribers will receive an email with the renewal price beforehand. Renewal prices may be higher than the initial price and are subject to change. You can cancel the renewal as described here in your account or by contacting us here or at 844-488-4540.

https://us.norton.com/

We send a notification email before each upcoming annual renewal (usually about 50-65 days ahead), so that you are not caught off-guard. This notification email provides important information, such as the price for the next annual term, and the subscription renewal and billing dates. This helps you to adjust your protection plan according to your needs.
Another benefit of subscribing to our automatically renewing subscription is that you gain the benefits of the Norton Virus Protection Promise.

Hello

Another thing to add is that Norton Security Premium will take care of uninstalling N360 if that program is working ok. If there is any issue with N360, then use control panel and Norton Removal Tool method. Remember to run Live Update and go over settings.

Thanks.

Hi gunsite - just to add a bit to peterweb's excellent response:

Be sure to turn off the Auto Renewal in Management and remove any credit card info that may be on your profile.

Many users here do just that. Cancel the Automatic Renewal and shop around at reputable retailers for the best price. Be aware that you will not find 360 at retail any more. You will have to purchase the newer Norton Security. If you use the backup feature of 360, you will have to get the NS Premium version.

Be aware that if you enter a new product key, you will lose any remaining time on your old subscription. So wait until a day or two remaining on the subscription before entering the new key. If you do enter it early, you can contact Norton Support to ask them to add the remaining time to your new subscription.
