I’ve noticed the same thing. And that’s after updating to v. 2.3.1.4.
Addition to my earlier message: Manual scans works normally.
Yes they do.Both quick and full scan
Before you updated to Norton 360 version 2.1.3.4, did you notice this Scan Duration and Total Items Scanned problem? Could this have been occurring before, and you didn’t notice it? Could there possibly have been malware installed on your system before you installed Norton 360 v2, which may be preventing a scan from completing? Or is you system configured differently than most novice users, like a dual-boot system, or a RAID setup? Any additional information you can provide is appreciated. Thanks!
I regularly checked the auto scans and have only noticed this problem in the last week so it may be related to latest update? It doesn't do this on every auto scan.I have had V2 installed for sometime and no malware was present before the install.
My system is not differently configured from normal
Autoscan at 18.39 worked normally
I regularly check the auto scans also as Rob_N (least once a day) and I'm absolutely sure, that the problem came after 2.3.1.4 update. For me that happens every time after auto scan (takes 1-3 sec., zero files etc. checked). Normally (like before update) quick scan takes about 1 min.
Where are your products installed: To a separate partition? How is your system set up? Possibly the quick scan is checking usual areas where problems occur, but if you have programs installed to different partitions, this may be the reason for the zero file scan. Any additional information on your system setup is appreciated. Thanks!
My machine is HP Pavilion dv6565eo laptop with Vista SP1(bought on August last year). Just one partition (original setup). And as I told in my previous message, this problem came with 2.3.1.4 update. PS. I was a few days off (from Mon to Thu) and came home yesterday evening (I live in Finland and my timezone is GMT+2). When I opened my laptop, the quick scan worked normally (actually twice during the night) and then this morning it failed again. And the malfunctioning prosess is virus and malware checking.
I’m convinced this has something to do with the lastest update as I have not noticed this with the earlier version of V2 or V1
Can we all be sure here that we are talking about the same version, ie. 2.3.1.4, and not 2.1.3.4?
I have to say I haven't noticed this, maybe it's happening after doing a quick scan following a Live Update download (when updates are actually installed), then reverts back to normal until the next Live Update download. Just a suggestion.
Yes, we all CAN be sure about the version (2.3.1.4) talking about, because there has never been version 2.1.3.4! Least I don’t know about that.
BTW, today at 12:30 (GMT+2), when I opened my laptop, quick scan worked OK again! This is very confusing!
