I ran my backup on automatic after serveral hours making the initial backups. Everything worked great and it only took seconds to keep the backup up to date. Unfortunately, Norton 360 had to be removed and reinstalled, Now the "backup set names" were missing. Only a "defaut" backup set name remained. Is there away to re-establish the link between the "backup set Name" and the existing on line backup files? The only way I know is to start all over.
I may not understand what you mean, but I do not want to restore. I want to continue updating the backup on automatic without starting over again. It takes a long time to start a new backup and you would not need the old one that was working fine.
Hello again Tom02.
I can well understand you not wanting to restart the backup but this may not be possible as Norton has been reset. However I am not aware you can resume an incremental backup after a reset.
I was trying to do it to help you ensure that the old backup was visible and could be used if you needed, and ensuring that the online backup space was available if you wished to continue using it.
If you wish to wait and see if someone comes up with an idea of how you can continue your incremental backup onto your old set then just say so.
On the other hand if you want some more detailed advice on how to check that your old backup is available and possibly setting up a new backup set then let me know and I will try to help. It is possible that you will find that you can in fact continue with your old backup set, if we follow this route but I cannot be sure and I personally doubt it.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thanks for your help. I can see and use the old backups if needed. Like you, I doubt if it is possible to continue the old backups after a reset. I will wait for an answer. Thanks. At a later date, this infomation may be recorded in your account like your identity safe information.
Good luck Tom02.
I will be interested if anyone comes up with a way to continue the incremental backup.
