I've just come back from a wonderful week's vacation. My family held our first family reunion and while we had loads of catching up to do, we also found ourselves discussing technology a great deal. What were our top items?
Taking into consideration that within my family we have the normal wide range of experience and understanding of technology you probably have in your own family, we discussed (in no particular order):
How your cell phone uses satellites to receive and transmit information
The nature of the DNS flaw receiving attention of late and how it might impact the average Internet user
The MIT students who were presenting a crack to the Boston T's fare card system at DEFCON (and whether the presentation should have been stopped by a judge)
Twitter - what it is and why my web-savvy, blogging nephew thinks it's silly
We also battled with technology that seemed to also be on vacation - or just chose last week to be twitchy about working. It's ugly to watch Blackberry users in withdrawal...
I enjoyed my week off and am now back and eager to get caught up with you on all that's been going on in our world of web safety! And how is your summer going?
