Back Up

My renewal took place recently, and now I get error messages everyday telling me, I have no space, because the product has not been renewed. I have removed everything re installed it and it´s the same

I recently changed my OS from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and I can't restore my files. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello Mark,

Which specific product did you renew? As it was already mentioned in many cases the renewal of online storage may be separate to the renewal of the subscription of N360 or NIS. If you're getting messages you're out of space you can optionally purge content from the account such as individual files you no longer want or backup sets you're no longer using. If your backup set has grown beyond the original storage space then buying more would be the next best course of action.

"Used Norton Uninstall / Reinstall 3 times now to no avail" - was that through Programs and Features?  The Norton Removal Tool?  Please elaborate.

Have you tried this?  Open the main UI > Help > Get Support.  This will run a diagnostic tool which will check for issues with your product and attempt to fix them.

It is getting silly now. Every time I open File Explorer or most of my programs in my New Windows 10 computer, the Norton icon on the right part of my Windows Taskbar goes off. I have to open Norton to get it back every time. Surly this isn't meant to happen.

  1. Which operating system is involved: Window 10 (New Computer)
  2. Is there any other security program (even a trial version) on your computer: No
  3. Windows Defender enabled: No
  4. Is there any other backup program running: No
  5. Can you provide the version of your Norton product: Version 22.9.3.13
  6. Please describe what happens when Norton shuts down. Are there any notifications: Here is a rundown

I add the files I want to backup. I go to where and click On Line. It says Activate so I put my password in the email address is already in. I click Sign In. It says Authenticating Account, then it shuts Norton down completely. It won't work at all after that, till I reboot the computer, then I can get to Norton. Used Norton Uninstall / Reinstall 3 times now to no avail. I am backing up manually to my external hard drive for now. There are no notifications. Hope this helps.

Hello David Elliott,

If you could answer a few questions, it will be easier to diagnose your issue.

  1. Which operating system is involved?
  2. Is there any other security program (even a trial version) on your computer?
  3. Windows Defender enabled?
  4. Is there any other backup program running?
  5. Can you provide the version of your Norton product? (main UI > Help > About)
  6. Please describe what happens when Norton shuts down. Are there any notifications?

Thanks!

From file manager, you should have a drive called Norton Backup Drive.  Click on it and it will open your online storage folder.
