BackDoor.Ratenjay RAT Activity ....or not ??

Hi Guys,

The problem started last week when every two seconds, in the right lower corner of the display, I got the warning popup window  "System  infected: Backdoor.Ratenjay RAT Activity".

I cut the internet and I initiated a full system scan. Now comes the  confusion. The scan shows that the system is clean. No viruses. But, during the scan and after the scan, the popup window telling me that "The System is infected" was continuously showing up.

I tried to run Norton Power Eraser but I got some error. I downloaded the Norton Bootable Recovery tool. I started the computer with the bootable DVD and I scanned it. Once again I got " The system is clean".

I am extremely confused right now. Norton is telling me that my system is clean and at a same time that I have a virus. So what should I believe and do?

On the attached pics it says "System infected"  ...Recommended action: No action required. --What does that mean?

I tried to delete the REGSVCS.EXE from \DEVICE\HARDDISKVOLUME3\WINDOWS\MICROSOFT.NET\FRAMEWORK\V4.0.30319\REGSVCS.EXE, but it was impossible.. Windows 8.1 didn't allow me to have FULL CONTROL over the V4.0.30319 folder.

I also tried to uninstall the Framework intending to install it back but I failed.

Did anybody experience anything similar?

Is there any explanation for Norton's confusing behavior (getting two opposite warnings at a same time)?

Thank you very much. Any suggestion is welcomed.

Best regards,

Dan Danu
