Backup completed with errors (... files could not be backed up)

I've been using Norton Online Backup for around a month now, but I have never had a backup without an error. Every time, I get a message saying there were errors, check the log for details, and the log says there's between 20 and 50 files not backed up... but there is nothing to tell my WHAT was skipped.

In addition to asking for help here, I would suggest to the programmers that you add a more verbose log... any time there's a file not backed up, it helps to know what... Is this one of my documents or a temporary file or a lock file I shouldn't worry about?

Hello Michael,

It sounds like it is grabing temporary internet files and maybe system files. You can add rules to your back up set to exclude them . Log in to nobu.backup.com, go to settings on  the profile you are trying to fix, choice the what tab, go to advance rules, and click add rule. Change from include to exclude then enter the path for the oper ating system you are running

WIndows Vista,7,& 8 C:\Users\usernamexxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files

Windows XP %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Internet Files or in %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Click add then save then try another back up to see if that fixes the issue. If it does please mark thread complete, If not let me know I will be glad to help

Hi @bhenderson ,

Sorry for not replying sooner. I've sent you a Private Message ( PM Image.jpg) requesting logs. If you're able to send them, that would be great.  Thanks.

Sunil,

I responded to your private message. This issue appears to have changed or gotten worse in that I now get the "Backup Finished with error(s). RW2: Cannot find file ()" error message on every backup and can no longer tell if the backup is actually functioning since there is no file count in the log.

It appears that the original errors appear to have been related to documents stored on SkyDrive. I am running Windows 8.1 but I don't know if that plays any part in this issue.

Hi @bhenderson ,

We are aware about the issue "Backup finished with an error(s). RW2: Cannot find file()" and team is working on it. We'll post an update when we have more information.
