Have not been able to get Ghost 15 to work reliably with Windows 7-64 bit, a very large system drive (1TB RAID 5 array), and a 2TB USB 3.0 external drive and 16GB of system memory.
I think I got too far out on the bleeding edge.
I can get the backup to run 2 to 3 cycles then it stops. The backup drive is alway unavailble. I get messages like the below in the events:
Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of System Reserved (*:\), (C:\).
Error E7D1001F: Unable to write to file.
Error EBAB03F1: The system cannot find the file specified. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071)
Invariably the backup drive shows as "(Not Available)". I can view the drive from Windows Explorer and from the Ghost Options menu. I am worried the USB 3.0 is the problem. Have looked for updates to the BIOS, USB and Ghost and am as up-to-date as I can get. If I stop/start and delete enough stuff I can get a backup or two to run, then I go back to getting the errors and "(Not Available)" again.
I have figured out I can not use recovery points. Just too many clusters/sectors to keep track of, so I have been using independent recovery points.
Windows 7 64-bit (current except not using IE 9)
Ghost is version 15.0.1.36526
"C" RAID-5 Array is 3 Western Digital WD6000HLHX VelociRaptors 600GB each so a little over 1TB after striping
Backup drive is Western Digital WDBACW0020HBK on USB 3.0
I have 16GB of memory in the config, and also wonder if that is going over some limit.
