I have selected a single file to backup with Norton 360, but it never works. I can access the following details:
action:
backup
status:
failed
location / media type:
secure online storage
secure online storage result:
(a 9-digit number I don't know if I should post)
recommended action:
none
i find it strange that I am encouraged to "fix" the problem by backing up files, and yet, I cannot do so, and still, the recommended action on the detail page is "none".
help? please.
Please post a screenshot of the backup error that you get. Also let us know your Operating System, version of Norton program you use and the make/model of your Cd/DVD drive.
Yogesh
Thanks for letting us know.
Keep an eye on things for a while to see if things stay 'fixed'.
It appears to be completing only files that have changed or added. That's ok, but why does it say that it failed?
Another issue may be related. I have three Norton backup files. When I try to restore from the one that is most recent, I don't have a problem. But, when I try to restore from on e of the other two, the Norton app acts strange and shuts down. Could these file be corrupt and cause the failed backup?
OK, I delete the oldest one of the three backup files and it seem that the backup is running normal again.
Do you have a sense of what files are not being backed up? ie documents or images?
I followed your instructions and the result is the same. Only, six files were backed up and it failed (partial success).
From your image, you are advised that some files may be in use. Depending on the files you have set to be backed up, maybe you have been working on them while the backup is running. Try closing everything down at the end of the day, then running the backup manually from your Norton Security product.
The backup was a partial completion. See the attached screen shot.
Is there a specific error message when the backup fails?
