Norton 360 Premier Edition 20.4.0.40: Backup is incredibly slow (I have a fast Internet connection). Tried to backup JUST ONE SMALL FILE (50 KB) into the HARD DRIVE: still incredibly slow (almost 15 minutes). I simply cannot use Norton Backup. Have to keep on using SkyDrive (rather unpratical but fast).

Thanks for the fast reply.
1. Yes, I had tried before to use Norton's backup always with no success, but kept on using Skydrive. Now, I really need something more pratical.
2. I assumed that Norton updates versions automatically and that I don't have to worry about that. The version I refered is the one presently in my computer.
3. I mentioned my fast Internet connection because I first tried to make the Backup Online (what turned out to be impossible).
4. Then I tried to do the Backup into the "Local Disk" and it also failed (after a few hours I gave up).
5. Then I repeated the Backup into the "Local Disk" using only a small PDF file and it took lots of time.
In short, I cannot use the Norton Backup function.
Thanks in advance for your best attention

Thanks for the clear and speedy response josecastro1955.
Given the speed and clarity of your response I am sending this to warn you that I will take a little longer to reply substantively, as I need to think over a few things and do some research. Should anyone else have any bright ideas on any of the points please feel free to jump in.
In the meantime all the best.
Joe
Can you please elaborate as to how you're selecting the files for backup:
- Using the pre-selected categories
- Selecting the files individually
If you use the categories it can grab far more than single files. Also what is your actual upload speed? That's what will have bearing on the transfer of data.
Hello again Joe.
Just to let you know that I have not forgotten you but now that wwelty has joined the thread (he is a Norton staff member with excellent knowledge of the backup software) I think it best to leave you in his care.
As a slight aside - If you do want to update your version of N360 try looking under the support tag there should be something there like "New Version check" that should help you move on, if you wish to. In most cases people want to move up to the latest version but if you use the identity safe features you may need to be careful with changes to the local vault. Certainly if you use identity safe make sure you back up all your identity safe data before you change versions.
Good luck.
I have just updated Norton 360 to version 21.0.2.1 and things improved a lot in what backups are concerned.
I don't use pre-seleted categories of files, but folders.
Presently, the backup of an 1 GB folder will take around 90 minutes.
My upload speed is 20 Mbit/s.
Rgds
