My backup set failed with a message saying that backup drive was not connected. I created a new backup set which worked.
How do I delete the backup file from my external HDD. I have read that it should be deleted from the Norton Backup drive in "My Computer". I don't have this reference in "My Computer". I have deleted the backup set in Norton 360.
If I understand you correctly, you deleted a Backup Set that is installed on an external HDD.
I had a similar situation and used the Norton Backup Drive which shows all the locations that contain backups. I clicked on the Device that contained the Backup set that I wanted to delete and it opened the files. At first I right clicked the file and chose delete but because the set was large it was taking a very long time. So I stopped and opened the file and drilled down to lower levels and deleted the folders and when they were gone, I moved up to the next level and deleted those folder. I continuued the process until the entire backup set was deleted. If the set isn't too large you wouldn't have to use this method.
