I've just upgraded to Norton 360 on a Core 2 Duo system with Vista 32 bit and have found the Backup function unusable. It takes so long to do whatever it's doing after starting almost any function, and without anything like a progress bar to tell me that it's doing something, that appears to hang.
Windows even reports it as 'not responding' when I ask it to do anything else.
I've learnt that if I wait long enough, it gets there in the end,but it has crashed on several occasions with the error message something like 'Symantec something Framework Service has stopped'.
I no longer have any confidence that it is backing up what I want it to backup, because of these crashes, and also because after doing a backup and coming back to restart backups, it reports backup of size of 0 files, 0 size.
I have now turned off backup and have gone back to the much more reliable drag and drop of my data to the backup drive.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this experience normal?
I also question why a user not logged on as adminstrator can't manage their own backup set. It doesn't make sense.
