I ran a new backup last week in Norton 360, and the size was approximately 400GB. Within one week, it has doubled in size, and now my backup drive is filled. I haven't added more than 500MB worth of new files, so something is happening to cause my backup to double-up. Any ideas on what might be causing the issue?
SYoung - this is a lie. There is an issue with the software itself, don't let them tell you otherwise. There are way too many people having this exact same issue (myself included) for it not to be a software problem, but Norton/Symantec refuse to acknowledge it. The best way to solve the issue is to use something else for backing up your files.
I joined today and have been using Norton 360 for a number of years and I can see my Norton 360 backup folder containing 550 gb of data. I have updated to version 6.0 and just ran a new backup. The managers shows the latest backup is 192 gb yet the managers shows no indication of any other previous backups.
Most software when upgraded makes an effort to include files from previous versions.
Currently Backup kind of leaves you with a warm and fuzzy feeling, but tells you very little regarding your previous backups if they are full, incremental, etc.
Sounds like my only alternative is to completely remove all of my backup files and start over each time I update to a new version of 360. Just to recoup space and get something real to manage.
