The backup starts well, and then at some point (e.g. 62% completion), the backup fails. I receive an error stating that the framework has stopped working. I look at Windows Explorer and that drive (it is mapped) is suddenly disconnected, and I never have connection issues. I close Norton back up, simply click the drive in Explorer and it suddenly re-connects.
I am using Windows 7 Home Edition and although I can't readily find the version number for my copy of Norton 360, I checked for updates and it is completely up to date as of today.
I did search the forums and there were suggestions that I use Norton Removal Tool and then reinstall. However, there is no indication in those forum discussions that this approach was successful and that the issue was "solved". I would like to know that this process will actually work prior to commencing it. It may help for me to understand how a re-install would specifically help this issue. And of course, if anyone was a tested solution, I would appreciate that information.
