Normally when visiting the Bank of America website the Norton Toolbar site safety icon turns into a shield to indicate the site is "Norton Authenticated." This evening the icon remained a green-encircled checkmark. Other financial sites are showing as authenticated, so the issue seems to be specific to BofA. Just wondering if this is a glitch or whether Symantec has a reason to no longer authenticate the site. Firefox says the certificate is good and that I was at the actual BofA site, so I don't believe there was anything unscrupulous afoot. Norton version is NIS 2010 17.0.0.136.
UPDATE: Some financial sites are being authenticated, others not. So it may not be specific to BofA afterall.

Thanks for pointing out the issue. We found that Bank of America seems to be using a few new subdomains. The Norton Authenticated profile data has been updated and you should receive the update automatically in an upcoming LiveUpdate (in some new definitions).
Thanks, Matt. Between the multiple Firefox browser safeguards, the SiteKey authentication at BofA, and the Norton Site Safety icon, I am not lacking for site verification tools, but that Norton shield is just so convenient. I didn’t realize how dependent I had become on it until it actually did not authenticate the site and I had to start clicking to view certificates! Glad you found the cause.

I just checked and got the shield this morning wheras yesterday I got the checkmark … I’d never noticed it before just relied on the address box turning green.
